The Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja has taken action by ordering the attachment of the Oyo State government’s accounts across ten Nigerian commercial banks.
PremiumTimes reported that the decision aims to enforce the payment of a substantial N3.4 billion judgment debt owed by the state government.
The court’s directive implies that while the government retains access to its accounts, it is restricted from withdrawing funds beyond maintaining a balance of less than N3.4 billion.
The ruling was delivered by Judge Achibong Ebong during a garnishee proceeding initiated by former local government area officials in Oyo State.
