The Fédération internationale de football association has announced a partnership with Saudi Arabia’s state-owned oil company, Aramco.
The deal is in place until 2027, giving Aramco sponsorship rights for the men’s World Cup in 2026 and the Women’s World Cup the following year. The company already has sponsorship deals within Formula 1 and is a partner of the International Cricket Council.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino said Aramco has a strong track record of supporting world-class events, but also a focus on developing grassroots sport initiatives.
The partnership means the Gulf kingdom continues to increase its influence on sport globally.
And in another development, Napoli are reportedly considering a move for Terem Moffi as a potential replacement for Victor Osimhen.
According to reports, Osimhen looks set to leave the former Serie A champions in the summer. The Partenopei could bring in Moffi as a replacement for the former Lille striker.
Moffi, 23, has enjoyed a prolific campaign for Ligue 1 club, OGC Nice and has already scored 11 goals for Nice this season. The Nigerian is under contract at the club until 2027.
His compatriot Victor Boniface and Bologna star, Joshua Zirkzee, have also been linked with Napoli.
