The Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) announced that twenty-seven percent of educators who participated in the Professional Qualifying Examination (PQE) in November 2023 did not meet the required standard.
Josiah Ajiboye, the Registrar of TRCN, shared this information during an interactive session with journalists in Abuja on Monday.
According to Mr. Ajiboye, a total of fifteen thousand, seven hundred and fifty-three teachers took the examination at thirty-eight centers across the country.
Out of this number, PremiumTimes reported that ten thousand, six hundred and thirty-six passed, while three thousand, nine hundred and sixty-three teachers, equivalent to twenty-seven percent, failed to meet the set standards.
The Professional Qualifying Examination is designed to assess the professional knowledge and competence of teachers in the educational sector.
