Ola Olukoyede, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has announced the appointment of Michael Nzekwe as his Chief of Staff.
This move comes alongside the appointment of Zonal Directors for each of the 14 Zonal Commands of the commission.
In a statement released by the Commission’s Head of Publicity, Dele Oyewale, on Saturday, Nzekwe, a lawyer and former Commander of the Ilorin Zonal Command of the anti-graft agency, is hailed as a “topnotch investigator.” His appointment takes immediate effect, and he has already assumed his duties.
“A seasoned administrator, he has attended several trainings and courses home and abroad, including the Advance Defence Intelligence Officers Course organised by Defence Intel Agency, DIA. The appointment takes immediate effect and he has assumed duties,” he said.
Furthermore, as part of the restructuring and repositioning of the EFCC, Olukoyede upgraded all the zonal commands to the status of Departments, each to be headed by a Director. Accordingly, 14 new Directors have been appointed to lead the zonal commands.
