Kwara govt approves 400 street solars for communities in 16 local governments 

At least four hundred units of solar street lights have been approved for procurement and installation for various communities across the sixteen local governments of Kwara state, the state Ministry of Energy has said.

State Commissioner for Energy Honorable Abdulwahab Femi Agbaje White told reporters in his office that the approval was sequel to the government’s resolve to enhance public access to light for environmental beauty, adding that the facility will equally prevent criminal tendencies in the affected communities.

He also said that the government has directed the installations of transformers for seven more communities, promising that the administration will not relent in improving the standard of living of its citizenry.

The communities to benefit from new transforners in this phase are Amule-lele Community (Ilorin West); Isokan Community Akerebiata (Ilorin East); Sikiru Ottan Community, Basin Road (Ilorin South); Government Reserve Area (GRA) in Tsaragi (Edu); Salvation Community, Stadium road Ilorin (Ilorin West); Eeko Community (Edu); Aiyetoro Community, Offa LGA layout phase II (Offa).

A statement made available to Royal Times by Abdulhameed Rukayat Press Secretary,Ministry of Energy recalled that the state government recently approved the installation of eleven transformers for some communities that were badly affected by poor electricity in the state.
