Acting Provost of College of Education Ilorin Dr. Jimoh Ahmed Ayinla has again clarified that a recent development that resulted in the misbehavior of some of their students who he says are now deeply remorseful was a minor issue that could have been sorted, alleging that antagonists of the government leveraged on the minor issue for their selfish gains.
To this end, Ayinla says the management of Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin, has urged the staff and students of the institution to remain calm as the state governor, AbdulRahaman AbdulRazaq is attending to the challenges facing the institution.
Speaking with reporters at the weekend, the provost apologized to both the governor and the commissioner in the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Dr. Afeez Abolore over the embarrassment the students’ unrest might have caused them.
Ayinla, however, blamed the inability of the management to meet its financial obligations on dwindling internally generated revenue (IGR) due to the refusal of a large percentage of the student population to pay their school fees.
