Military foils bandits attack in Zamfara

Troops of the Operation Hadarin Daji, OPHD, with the joint efforts of the local vigilante, on Sunday, foiled bandits’ attack at Bula village of Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

According to eyewitnesses, the armed bandits stormed the community in their large numbers shooting sporadically in the wee hours of Sunday.

The sources said they were forced back to the forest due to the superior power of the OPHD troops and the vigilante group.

Brigadier General S Ahmed, commander 1 Brigade Nigerian Army, Gusau, recalled that there was a similar attack on the community in the last three weeks.

He added that the troops of the OPHD blocked the exit route of the bandits, denied them freedom of action and rescued two women and a baby abducted from the village.
