The Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, has slammed a six million naira fine on Kwara United for disrupting a live broadcast of their matchday 31 encounter with Akwa United.
Kwara United cited a letter claiming that the state government had planned an event at the stadium, causing their scheduled matchday 31 fixture against Akwa United to be moved from Saturday, April 20 to Sunday, April 21.
However, it turned out that there was no such activity by the state government at the stadium which hosted a lower league fixture instead.
The fine was contained in a memo sent to the club and Kwara United have 48 hours to appeal the verdict.
