The United States, State Department has said in a statement that it has appointed a new special envoy for Middle East humanitarian issues in person of Lise Grande.
Grande, who will replace David Satterfield, is currently head of the independent US Institute of Peace.
During her 25 years at the United Nations, her work included running aid operations in Yemen, Iraq and South Sudan.
In another foreign news, Palestinian Civil Defence member, Mohammed al-Moghier says his team is ready to prepare an evidential report for an independent investigation into the mass grave discovered at Gaza’s Nasser Hospital.
Al-Mughier also described the effect of working for the past months in Gaza, saying some aid workers are traumatised after failing to save people they tried to rescue.
He added others were infected with diseases when they exhumed dead bodies from under the rubble without necessary precaution due to the lack of equipment.
