EU Industry Chief, Thierry Breton announced the inquiry after reviewing TikTok’s risk assessment report and responses to inquiries, with key concerns to include addictive design, screen time management, age verification, and privacy settings.
The probe, under the Digital Services Act (DSA), aims to ensure platforms tackle illegal content and public security risks.
