The Kwara State Police Command has heightened security measures and deployed additional manpower to key locations following a recent prison escape in neighboring Niger State.
In a statement released on Sunday, April 28, 2024, by the spokesperson of the Kwara State Police Command, DSP Ejire-Adeyemi Toun, it was disclosed that the command is collaborating with relevant agencies to ensure the safety and security of the state.
Recognizing the security implications of such incidents in neighboring states, the Commissioner of Police, CP Victor Olaiya, assured that the Kwara State Police Command is on high alert.
Collaborating with relevant agencies, the command has intensified patrols along border areas and increased surveillance in vulnerable locations within the state. CP Olaiya emphasized the importance of community vigilance and urged citizens to report any suspicious activities to the nearest security agency.
“We urge all citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest security agency. Together, we can maintain peace and security in our communities.
“The Kwara State Police Command remains committed to its mandate of protecting lives and property and assures the citizens of its readiness to respond swiftly to any security challenges.
