As schools across Kwara State prepare to resume for the first term of the new academic session, the residents of Alakuko Irorun in Ifelodun Local Government Area have appealed to the State Government to reconstruct the three blocks of classroom and administrative block of the Alakuko Irorun LGEA Primary School.
According to Suleiman Abdulwahab, a prominent member of the community, the present condition of the classrooms is inhabitable and unconducive for learning, explaining that termites had destroyed the roofing, as the three blocks of the classrooms remain in bad condition.
Abdulwahab disclosed that despite writing several letters to the State Universal Basic Education Board, the Ifelodun Local Government Area Council, Kwara State Community and Social Development Agency, nothing has been done to assist the community in reconstructing the blocks of classrooms, throwing the planned school resumption into disarray.
