Barely hours after some police officers were seen in a viral video on social media harassing a young man, the Kwara Police have clarified the incident, noting that the victim in the incident has been released after interrogation.
Recall that on Tuesday some men of the Kwara state police command were seen in a trending video harassing a young man, with initial report alleging that the police arrested him because he is an internet fraudster fondly called Yahoo Boys.
Reacting to the video, the spokesperson of the command, SP Ajayi Okasanmi while speaking on RoyalFM security program tagged Crime Stopper explained that the police officers were searching for some cultists but arraigned the young man because he refused to be searched.
He further clarified that the young man after being arraigned to the police station said he refused to be searched because he was scared. The police spokesperson added that the young boy has however being released after interrogation and found innocent.
SP Ajayi Okasanmi added that the police officers, involved in the incident will be punished by the Police Force for the manner of arresting the young man
