Zimbabwe players have boycotted training over unpaid bonuses, appearance fees and allowances ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixture against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZiFA) had reportedly promised 2,000 US Dollars for a win but said nothing about drawn matches, and the players now want their daily allowances paid and also demand they get something from their 0-0 draw against Rwanda on Wednesday.
The issue is however expected to be resolved before the game against Nigeria, as Baltemar Brito’s side prepares to entertain the Super Eagles at the Huye Stadium in Butare on Sunday.
