Arsenal held off a late Tottenham Hotspur comeback to win the North London Derby 3-2 on Sunday, extending their lead at the top of the Premier League table.
Bukayo Saka’s corner was turned into the Spurs’ net by a Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg own goal, giving Arsenal the lead.
Saka then finished a counter-attack to double the advantage, after which Kai Havertz headed in a third goal to complete Arsenal’s first-half dominance.
Tottenham mounted a comeback in the second half with goals from Cristian Romero and Son Heung-Min, but it wasn’t enough to catch up.
Meanwhile, the reigning champions Manchester City, ended the first half against Nottingham Forest with a one-goal lead at the City Ground, with Josko Gvardiol’s 32nd-minute header making the difference.
