English Premier League outfit West Ham United is reportedly eyeing a move for Nigeria international striker Taiwo Awoniyi, as Nottingham Forest considers offloading key players to alleviate financial pressures following a breach of the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules.
Nottingham Forest recently received a four-point deduction for breaching the Premier League’s financial regulations, with the club admitting to surpassing the permissible threshold by 34.5 million euro.
In light of this penalty, the club faces the prospect of further financial scrutiny in the upcoming season, prompting speculations of player sales to mitigate future breaches. According to reports, West Ham is poised to reignite their interest in Awoniyi after previously failing to secure his signature last summer.
