The 2015-2017 Federal NYSC Awardees, who are Kwara State indigenes, have presented a manual sanitizing machine to the Kwara State Ministry of Sports and Youth Development as part of their contribution to the battle against the transmission of covid-19 plague.
According to a press statement by the Press Secretary, Ministry of Sports and Youth Development, Dr. Sangodare Ayinla, the awardees’ gesture was as well in appreciation of the honour bestowed on them in October, 2019, by the Kwara State Government.
Receiving the manual sanitizing machine, the Honourable Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Mrs. Joana Nnazua Kolo, thanked the donors on behalf of the Kwara State Government.
Kolo explained that the machine will go along way in curtailing the transmission of covid-19 ravage, adding that the act of reciprocation shows that the concerned Corps Members are not ingrates.
Also speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Barrister Iyabo Funke Banire, urged the donors not to relent in their passion to practically engage in selfless projects which they think will continue to move the State and country forward.
Barr. Banire said that the gift came out of the spirit of patriotism.
Responding, the representative of the donors, Mr. Musa Bio Ishiaq, commended the AbdulRazaq-led Administration for reaching out to every sector in the state, adding that the donor group had once been beneficiaries of the Administration’s generosity.
The donors include Raji Hamidu, Raymond Kola Oyedeji, Awotoye Babalola Amos, Alade Fiyinfoluwa Ifeoluwa., Musa Bio Ishiak and Samuel Omotayo Elijah.
The event, which took place at the Ministry of Sports and Youth Development, also had in attendance the DPFS, Alhaja Fatimat Abolore, Director, Youth Development, Alhaja Aishat Mohammed, Deputy-Director, Youth Development, Mallam Abdulsalam Akeem and others.
