Despite putting up a scintillating performance, especially in the second half, Kwara United Football Club lost to Bayelsa United at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa.
The home team had started on a fine note, dictating the phase, and it wasn’t long enough for the club’s top scorer, Rober Mizo to benefit from goalkeeper Salihu Sulaiman’s error, to score the first goal in the 10th minute.
Jolted by the early goal, Kwara United reacted, and that swift reaction resulted in the equalizing goal, as Samuel Ayanrinde scored his first goal of the season, in the 18th minute, to draw even.
Rober Mizo again rose to the occasion for the home team, benefitting again from goalkeeper Salihu Sulaiman’s poor handling of the ball in the 32nd minute, with the goal finally deciding the highly explosive match.
