In line with the ‘no gree for anybody’ slogan which has become a viral catchphrase in the Nigerian social media space and on the streets, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has warned that the popular slogan being used by mostly youths can lead to crisis.
This was disclosed in a press briefing in Abuja by the spokesperson for the Nigeria Police, Muyiwa Adejobi, noting that intelligence reports show that the slogan is capable of plunging Nigeria into a crisis of massive proportions.
Adejobi said though it is being seen as a normal slogan, the security community views it as dangerous, emphasizing that the catchphrase loosely means ‘do not tolerate any form of nonsense from anybody’ or ‘do not allow yourself to be bullied by anyone’.
He further stressed that Nigerian youths should do away with negative words that might attract chaos.
“The new slogan for 2024 for young people is ‘no dey gree for anybody’,” Adejobi said.
“We have been informed from our intelligence that this is coming from the retributionary sector that might likely cause problems across the country.
“No dey gree for anybody is being seen as just normal talk. In the security community, we have seen it as a very dangerous slogan that can trigger crises.”
