INEC says IRev Portal safe, not sabotage

INEC says IRev Portal safe, not sabotage

The Independent National Electoral Commission says it was fully aware of the challenges with the INEC Results Viewing Portal also known as IReV.

This was contained in a statement signed by the National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye on Sunday

Okoye noted that the portal was only experiencing challenges and not sabotage, adding that the IReV was safe.

According to him, the problem is totally due to technical hitches related to scaling up the IReV from a platform for managing off-season, state elections, to one for managing nationwide general elections.

Okoye said INEC appreciated the concerns of the public on the situation and urged people to desist from “statements and actions that can heat up the polity.
