The Kwara State Government has fulfilled its commitment to clear all outstanding salary arrears owed to SUBEB teachers and local government workers, totaling N3 billion, which were inherited from the previous administration of former Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed.
In a statement released on Thursday by Babatunde Toyin Abdulrasheed, the Press Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, it was disclosed that the government allocated over one billion naira to settle the balance of arrears owed to SUBEB teachers, as indicated by figures from the recent allocation meeting of the local government.
As reported RoyalTimes, an amount of over 1.6 billion naira was earmarked to clear the outstanding arrears for local government workers from the previous administration, based on data from the allocation meeting.
Furthermore, the government has approved funding for the implementation of the 2022 promotion for teaching and non-teaching staff of the SUBEB, in line with efforts to enhance the purchasing power of workers.
