As Muslims worldwide observe the holy month of Ramadan, the Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation (ABS Foundation) has announced plans to distribute Iftar meals to mosques across several states in northern Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
This initiative, a testament to the foundation’s commitment to corporate social responsibility, aims to provide support to communities during this auspicious period.
In a press release issued to journalists, the Director of Programmes, North Central, ABS Foundation, Musa Aliyu, revealed the details of the initiative. The distribution will cover all local government areas (LGAs) in Kwara State, in addition to selected mosques in Sokoto, Niger, Kogi, and the FCT.
Aliyu emphasized the significance of the foundation’s intervention, particularly amidst prevailing economic challenges, stating, “The meal distribution across all LGAs in Kwara State as well as in several other states aims to cushion the effect of the economic hardship in the country.”
Acknowledging the hardships faced by many in accessing adequate and affordable meals to break their fast during Ramadan, the ABS Foundation seeks to alleviate these burdens through its philanthropic efforts.
The Iftar meal distribution, a daily occurrence throughout the holy month of Ramadan, is poised to offer essential sustenance and support to Muslim faithful across the designated regions.
Aliyu expressed hope that the initiative would serve as a source of comfort and assistance to those in need, underscoring the foundation’s commitment to uplifting communities and fostering a spirit of compassion and solidarity.
