As the world gathers to celebrate the joyous occasion of Christmas, clergyman Pastor Dr. John Adekunle has shared his unwavering commitment to spreading the message of peace and hope.
Speaking to RoyalTimes, the Head Pastor, City of Refuge Church expounded upon the profound significance of Christmas, emphasizing the intrinsic link between the birth of Jesus Christ and the essence of peace.
“Christmas is important because Christ is born,” Pastor Adekunle emphasized. “His arrival signifies peace and reconciliation, as outlined in the Bible. His covenant symbolizes peace, heralded by the angels, bringing us closer to the Father.”
When probed about effectively preaching peace to Nigerians during this festive season, the pastor shared invaluable insights on how embracing Christ’s teachings could be the key to fostering peace in the Nigerian society.
“The better way to preach peace is through Christ, the Prince of Peace Himself. Without Christ, there can be no lasting peace. Embracing Christ is embracing peace. When a nation, a family, or an individual welcomes Christ into their midst, peace becomes inherent. He’s the sole source of genuine peace in the world.”
As the conversation shifted to his message for Nigerians this Christmas, Pastor Adekunle urged the nation to continue fervent prayers for Nigeria’s future.
“My message is simple yet profound: let’s continue praying for Nigeria. There is hope for Nigeria’s betterment. Let us pray that the Prince of Peace reigns in every aspect of Nigeria, ushering in a season of peace, justice, and joy that Christ epitomizes, especially during this festive period.”
Pastor Adekunle’s words resonate deeply during this season of goodwill and hope as his call for embracing Christ as the harbinger of peace and advocating for prayers for Nigeria’s prosperity echoes sentiments of faith, unity, and optimism for a peaceful future.
