Alhassan Yusuf, the midfielder for the Super Eagles, was notably absent from full training as the Nigerian national football team commenced preparations for their upcoming fixture against Cote d’Ivoire in the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The three-time champions are set to face the Elephants at the Alassanne Quattara Stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan, on Thursday.
Yusuf, who sustained an injury during the Super Eagles’ 1-1 draw with Equatorial Guinea on Sunday, did not actively participate in the training session.
While the rest of the squad, consisting of 24 players, engaged in the training session, Yusuf trained separately, raising concerns about his fitness for the upcoming clash with Cote d’Ivoire.
