The Chairman of the Kwara State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Honourable Babatunde Mohammed has called on the government stakeholders to play their parts and bring a quick end to the current economic crisis in the country.
Mohammed made this call at the 11th memorial prayer for the former Senate Leader, late Dr Olusola Saraki, on Tuesday at Ilofa Road, GRA, Ilorin.
Speaking to newsmen, Mohammed praised the legacy of the late Olusola Saraki, stating that he always found a way to make everyone happy whenever there was hardship in the community.
“Baba lived a fulfilled life. Baba when he was alive was always happy when he was able to assist the less privileged.
“Whenever there is hardship in the community, Baba will come home and ensure that he finds a way to make everybody happy. This is a great lesson to us as politicians and even to the government.”
The former speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly also praised Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki for emulating and walking in the steps of his late father.
“I want to say that we are very happy that our own leader today, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, the former president of the Senate has been doing the same thing. He lost election gallantly in 2019. Oga continued assisting people and he did not even allow that demoralise him.”
Honourable Mohammed, however, used the opportunity to appeal to the State government to take necessary action and intervene in the present hardship faced by citizens.
“I think the government should find a way to make sure that they do everything humanly and legally possible to reduce the hardship.
“Alhaji AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, his excellency, should find a way to ensure that everybody in Kwara State is taken care of because the hardship is becoming unbearable.
“I want to call on the government and even those that are in government besides the governor to try as much as possible to make sure they impact and try their best to make sure that this hardship is reduced.”
