IGP Applauds Police, Other Security Agencies for Conduct in Saturday’s Elections

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, on Tuesday, commended all police officers and operatives of other security agencies for the conduct of elections in Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi States on Saturday, November 11, 2023.

The police spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said in a statement that Egbetokun noted that the commitment and due diligence displayed by the security operatives in policing the off-cycle governorship elections in the three states are highly productive and commendable.

Egbetokun has further charged the Electoral Offences Desk Officers, under the supervision of the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department, to commence immediate investigations into these incidents.

Adejobi added that the IGP has also expressed gratitude to all security agencies involved in the election security management for lending their support to the police in securing the electoral process.
