Amid growing concerns over economic hardship and rising food prices, the Lagos State Police Command has issued a stern warning, vowing to crack down on protesters who attempt to disrupt the free flow of traffic during demonstrations.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, reiterated this stance on Sunday, emphasizing the police’s commitment to maintaining public order and ensuring the safety of lives and property in the state.
Hundeyin emphasized that while the police respect the rights of individuals to peaceful protest, any attempt to impede traffic or disrupt public peace would not be tolerated.
He assured residents that necessary measures would be implemented to safeguard their well-being and maintain a conducive environment for lawful activities.
Commissioner of Police, CP Adegoke Fayoade, emphasized the command’s commitment to enforcing the law and cautioned that any individual or group found violating the rights of others would face legal consequences.
