In a significant development for the legal infrastructure of Igbaja in Ifelodun local government area of Kwara State, the Chief Judge, Justice Abiodun Adebara, has assured residents that a competent resident judge will soon be posted to the Igbaja Judicial Division.
This assurance came during a visit by Justice Adebara and a team of judicial officials from the State Judiciary, including the State Chief Registrar, Mrs. Ibijoke Olawoyin, to the Division.
Justice Adebara emphasized the importance of providing suitable facilities such as courtrooms, judge’s chambers, and living quarters for the judge, along with ensuring adequate security arrangements.
He acknowledged that a judge was initially posted to the Igbaja division but was later withdrawn in 2012 due to inadequate logistics. “The court must be resuscitated to meet the standards of today’s high court,” Justice Adebara stated.
He commended the efforts of local leaders and citizens in revitalizing the community and expressed gratitude to his predecessor, Retired Justice Fola Gbadeyan, for his foresight in establishing the high court complex in Igbaja.
Retired Justice Gbadeyan, in his remarks, praised Justice Adebara’s leadership and urged the community to upgrade the court facilities to modern standards. He particularly highlighted the commitment of community leader Alhaji AbdulRaheem Oladimeji to the welfare of Igbaja.
Alhaji Oladimeji, known for his deep devotion to the community, expressed gratitude to the State Chief Judge for reactivating the Igbaja Division of the high court. He pledged the community’s support in upgrading the court facilities to ensure its efficiency and effectiveness.
