COVID-19: Kwara commences soft loan for transport workers

The Kwara state Government under the state’s Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP) says it will today, Monday commence disbursement of soft loans to transport workers who have been seriously affected by the lockdown aimed at flattening the curve of transmission of COVID-19 in the state.
Avcording to a statement by  the Special Assistant to the Kwara state Governor, on New Media, Fafoluyi Olayinka, those who are expected to be captured include motorcycle, tricycle and cab drivers who have been asked to stay at home as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak.
The Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq said that his administration is taking this measures to cushion the effect of the lockdown on the town service transporters whose survival depends on their daily turnovers and have since been stopped from working as a precautionary measure to curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
AbdulRazaq noted that the soft loans will be repaid in trickles after the COVID-19 crisis is over.
