Kwara Police Arrest Suspected Cultist, Recovers Two Locally Made Pistols, Cartridge 

The Nigeria Police Force, Kwara State Command have arrested a suspected cultist during a political rally of the All Progressives Congress held at Ojuekun Sarumi area, Ilorin, on Sunday, January, 29, 2023.

According to the Police Public Relation Officer in Kwara, SP Ajayi Okasanmi, the command acted swiftly on intelligence and arrested one Safi Abolaji AKA Ojulari, of Kankatu area, Ilorin.

Okasanmi added that the victim was overpowered by public-spirited persons and policemen, while two locally made short-guns with cartridges and some charms were found in his possession.

During the investigation, Okasanmi said the suspect, confirmed to be a member of the  People Democratic Party (PDP), an active member of the Aye confraternity, and was recently released from the correctional facility after serving a prison term.

While the Police spokesperson said investigation into the matter is ongoing and the suspect will be charged to court as soon as investigation is done, he added that the suspect could not sufficiently explain his presence at the rally.
