Following efforts to quench the inferno which affected a two-bedroom flat at Ile Alabiama, the Kwara Fire Service has provided reasons for the outbreak.
The Fire service received a distress call regarding a fire outbreak at Ile Alabiama, Sakama Area in Ilorin, on Tuesday March 12, at 22:41 hours. The firefighters responded to the call and extinguished the fire.
Displaying commendable courage and determination, the firefighters fought the inferno, which affected two units of the two-bedroom flats, with one bedroom affected by the fire.
In a statement released by Hassan Hakeem Adekunle, Head of Department, Media and Publicity, the fire service disclosed that the outbreak was triggered by a power surge, emphasizing the importance of electrical safety measures.
Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, the Director of the Kwara State Fire Service to prioritize safety awareness and precautions in their daily lives to avoid subsequent outbreak.
The statement reads; “On Tuesday, March 12th, 2024, at 22:41 hours, the Kwara State Fire Service received a distress call regarding a fire outbreak at Ile Alabiama, Sakama area in Ilorin. Swiftly responding, the fire crew arrived at the scene where they found two units of two-bedroom flats, with one bedroom affected by the fire.”
