Kwara Business Owners Call For Tax Holiday, Lament Drop In Sale

Following the economic crisis facing the nation, an appeal has gone to the Kwara state government to reduce taxation on businesses in the state in order encourage business owners.

Speaking with our correspondent, Olarotimi Oshin, some traders said business are already collapsing in the state and Nigeria at large.

A trader, Alhaja Suliat Ibrahim who said tax on shops in the state is Exorbitant raging from N2,500 to N10,000, called for tax holiday in Kwara state.

She noted that traders are equally  finding it difficult to get good patronage in recent times  as many salary earners bitterly lament their purchasing power .

Another trader at Tipper Garage market, Temitayo Muritala in a separate interview  charged kwara state government to consider the masses while fixing charges for approved  tax, noting that the current economical reality in the country and Kwara State is becoming unbearable.
