Fuel price hike: Zamfara workers now report to work twice weekly

Zamfara State civil servants now report to their duty posts twice a week, Mondays and Tuesdays, following high cost of transportation and economic challenges in the State.

Investigation clearly revealed that many ministries and State government agencies were like graveyards today.

A senior official, who spoke under anonymity, told newsmen that it became necessary as the workers could not afford the transportation fare to their workplaces.

When contacted, the State chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Sani Haliru said that the two labour unions in the State, NLC and TUC were making efforts to meet with the State government to find a lasting solution to the issue.
