In a recent interview, David Guetta, the renowned French DJ and producer, expressed his admiration for Nigerian singer-songwriter Ayra Starr, declaring her the next big global sensation and drawing comparisons to music icon Rihanna.
Guetta, known for his collaborations with top artists worldwide, believes that Ayra Starr’s unique musical style has the potential to captivate audiences on a global scale.
He praised Ayra Starr’s distinct vibe, attributing it to her unique background, and expressed confidence in her ability to resonate with listeners from diverse cultures.
Guetta, who recently collaborated with Ayra Starr and American rapper Lil Durk on his latest song “Big Fu,” shared his astonishment at the artist’s growing success.
“When people speak about Ayra Starr in the [music] industry, a lot of us see her as the new Rihanna,” David Guetta remarked in a recent Skype interview in Lagos Nigeria.
“Due to her unique background, she exudes a distinct vibe when she arrives. She could, however, be able to adapt to other cultures.
“Since we recorded, she is having even more hits. It’s crazy. I’m French. I was in Paris and everyone was talking about her. I was shocked like, ‘This is amazing. An African artiste that’s killing it in Europe, killing it in the U.S, it’s not everyday. Last time I saw it was working with Akon.’” he added.
