The Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, Mallam Saliu Mustapha, has initiated the distribution of multimillion Naira worth of food palliatives across the 52 wards within his jurisdiction.
The generous distribution, comprising thousands of bags of rice and other essential food items, is aimed at catering to the needs of the less privileged members of society, political loyalists, and community stakeholders throughout the senatorial district.
Speaking at the distribution event, the Legislative Assistant to the Senator, Alhaji AbdulKadri Tunde, emphasized that the primary focus of the initiative is to provide support during the festive season, acknowledging the challenging economic climate that has led to increased prices of food commodities.
“The gesture is designed to assist the less privileged members of our society, political loyalists, community and religious stakeholders, and especially our Christian brethren. Senator Mustapha recognizes the economic difficulties faced by many, particularly during this festive period when the demand for food items is at its peak,” stated Tunde.
He further highlighted that this distribution aligns with Senator Mustapha’s commitment to connecting with the people, particularly those in vulnerable positions in society.
The initiative also serves as a token of support for the efforts of the Kwara State Government, led by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazak, in providing palliatives to alleviate the impact of economic challenges.
“The distribution of these items is to lessen the hardship in the country and support our Christian faithful, party leaders and members across the wards, our supporters and less privileged for them to have a joyous celebration during this festive period. We all know the cost of rice and chicken in the market now, and that is why the senator approved the distribution of these items amongst our people to alleviate their sufferings,” added Tunde.
