Hours after suspending Humanitarian Minister, Betta Edu, President Bola Tinubu has also relieved the Chief Executive officer of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, Babatunde Irukera and Director-General for Bureau of Public Enterprises, Alexander Ayoola of their duties with immediate effect.
In a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, their removal from office takes immediate effect.
He said the removal is in line with the repositioning of critical agencies of the Federal Government towards protecting the rights of Nigerian consumers. Both men have been asked to hand over to the next most senior officers in their agencies.
Ngelale noted that the two dismissed Chief Executives are directed to hand over to the next most senior officer in their respective agencies, pending the appointment of new Chief Executive Officers.
