Chad’s government has blamed the opposition Socialist Party Without Borders (PSF) for an assault on the National Security Agency headquarters, resulting in casualties.
Despite claims of control over the situation, residents reported gunfire in N’Djamena, as Internet disruptions also followed the attack.
The attack coincided with Chad’s announcement of presidential elections on May 6, with the government vowing to prosecute those disrupting the democratic process.
PSF leader Yaya Dillo has denied involvement in the assault and an alleged assassination attempt on the Supreme Court president.
