Two players of co-hosts Australia, Mary Fowler and Aivi Luik have been ruled out of Thursday’s 2023 Women’s World Cup Group B Clash with the Super Falcons of Nigeria.
This was announced on the website of the Australian women’s national team with both players ruled out after suffering mild concussions in separate incidents at training on Tuesday.
Fowler was in action for Australia in their 1-0 win against debutants Republic of Ireland and was replaced in the 85th minute while Luik was an unused substitute.
This will be the second time Australia and the Super Falcons will clash at the women’s World Cup as the nine-time African champions lost the first meeting in 2015 by 2 goals to nil
