Ajakaye Harps On  Importance of Information Officers In Establishment.

The spokesperson for the Kwara State Governor, Mallam Rafiu Ajakaye has said the  importance of information Officers in an establishment can not be overemphasized.

Ajakaye who was represented by his deputy, Mallam Mashood Abdulrafiu Agboola said this while declaring open a 2day training workshop organised for information officers and press secretaries in the state civil service on effective service delivery by the Nigeria Union of Journalists, State Information Chapel at the Conference Room of the Ministry of Communications Headquarters in Ilorin.

According to him, ” the importance of your duty in the government establishment can not be over emphasized. You are the mouthpieces of the government in your various offices. Therefore, you need every support that will equip you with necessary skills to strengthen your capacity to deliver”.

“The task of managing an image for a government is huge and demanding. You will agree with me that you are not just an information officers, but also public relations officers that owe duties of building a good reputation for your employer. And to build a good reputation required you to not just disseminate information but to also ascertain what public perceptions are” he stressed.

The Chief Press Secretary also assured the commitment of the present government under the leadership of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to the welfare of workers in the State and particular the obligation of creating an enabling environment for information officers to offer their best in service delivery.
