Troops Kill Fifty Terrorists, Arrest Over One Hundred Others

Troops of the Nigerian Army have killed no fewer than fifty terrorists on various ongoing military operations across the country.
The Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba said on Thursday while briefing journalists at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja that an additional one hundred and fourteen suspected insurgents have been arrested.
“Our operations in the last week resulted in 50 neutralised terrorists while 114 of them were arrested. Troops also arrested 19 perpetrators of oil theft and rescued 49 kidnapped hostages.”
“In the South-South region, troops denied oil thefts of the estimated sum of over N968 million. Furthermore, troops recovered 65 assorted weapons and 400 assorted ammunition,” Buba said.
He further explained that within the week, nineteen suspected oil thieves were nabbed while forty-nine kidnap victims were also rescued by the troops.
According to RoyalTimes, the oil theft amounted to about nine hundred and sixty-eight million naira.
