The Chief Registrar of the Kwara State Sharia Court of Appeal, Hajia Hassanat Mustapha, has escaped a fire incident on the court premises. Also involved in the incident were her personal assistant and a driver of an 18-seater bus belonging to the court.
The incident caused a huge scare which resulted in pandemonium as the staff made frantic attempts to quench the inferno which gutted the bus.
It was gathered that the fire started from the battery head of the bus, noting that the Chief Registrar, her aide and the bus driver jumped out of the vehicle on the court premises.
It was further learnt that a client who came to prepare an affidavit rushed to inform the fire service adjacent the court complex.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the fire service, Hassan Hakeem Adekunle, confirmed the incident, stating that the engine compartment of the vehicle was affected but no life was lost in the incident.
