Proud Nigerian Gay Woman Says She Has No Regret Tricking Men Into Getting Her Pregnant

Proud Nigerian Gay Woman Says She Has No Regret Tricking Men Into Getting Her Pregnant

A Gay woman tricked men into sleeping with her to get pregnant so she could be a single mum and claim benefits.Kafayat Adegoke

Kafayat Adegoke, 30, from Bradford, decided to find herself a ‘sperm donor’ by pretending she was straight and bedding potential ‘dads’ because it was cheaper than IVF or surrogacy.

The mature student, who is in a relationship with a woman, quizzed the men she dated about their family background, medical history and blood group before she picked her Mr Right.

She then ditched him after two months when she fell pregnant.

Kafayat explained: “Ever since I was a little girl I have yearned for a baby.

“As a gay woman, surrogacy or IVF were options but I couldn’t afford these and they seemed way too much hassle.

“I decided I would have to sleep with a man and started to look out for guys that were good-looking and intelligent with a sense of humour.

“I’d like my child to have all these attributes.

“I thought logically and what I needed was a sperm donor and there were plenty of these walking the streets and I could take my pick.

“I decided to pretend I was straight and trick a man into getting me pregnant.”

The mum-to-be said she is now planning speaking to her local council to secure a house and benefits, arguing: “I deserve them like any other single mum.”

Determined Kafayat dated three men during her year of searching in 2014.

One was a 40-year old guy she met in Nandos, another was a 35-year-old jogger she got chatting to in a park.

The third and final unwitting sperm donor was a 34-year-old colleague.

At the time Kafayat was working as a TV producer and she took a shine to one of the studio engineers.

She said: “He was good-looking, witty and intelligent.

“Again, I spent time sussing him out and asking him about his family history and even discovered what blood group he was.”

She told how she researched the best sexual positions to get pregnant in, though admitted the thought of sleeping with men made her “feel sick”.

Kafayat slept with the man twice before getting pregnant.

She said: “I was so happy I was finally going to have a baby.

“I knew I had to end the relationship but I did start to feel guilty because I had grown close to him.

“I didn’t fancy him at all but we had become friends.

“I decided to tell him the truth, that I had used him to get pregnant.

“He was understandably furious and was shouting at me.

“I said I was sorry and made it clear I wanted nothing from him and I didn’t want him to have contact with me or the baby.”

She then moved to Leeds where she is now a student at Trinity University pursuing a course in film and television.

Kafayat has told her girlfriend, 26-year-old Aisha Atan, everything and the pair are planning to get married.

Aisha told the Mirror she was “shocked at first” but now understands and hopes to be “part of the child’s life”.

Kafayat said she will tell the child their dad is a sperm donor but won’t go into any more detail than that.

She admitted people have been shocked at what she has done but argued it “wasn’t easy”.

Kafayat, originally from Nigeria, explained: “My baby’s dad has tried to contact me a few times but I want nothing to do with him.

“I don’t regret tricking a man into getting me pregnant. All that matters is my baby.”
