The Federal Government has disclosed plans for the Port-Harcourt refinery to commence operations by producing two million litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and 2.2 million litres of diesel per day.
As gathered by RoyalTimes, this revelation was made during an inspection tour of the facility by the government, alongside representatives of organized labour.
Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, revealed that the refinery, currently at 80% completion, would kickstart operations with the old plant processing 54,000 barrels per day. Additionally, the new plant, in its final phase of completion, is expected to commence production before the year’s end.
“The combined capacity of the two plants, when fully on stream, would produce 10 million litres of PMS per day,” Onyejeocha said in a statement issued by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, Olajide Oshundun on Thursday.
