Kenya’s Independent Police Oversight Authority (IPOA) says it has launched investigations into the killing of a prominent Pakistani journalist named Arshad Sharif.
Its head, Ann Makori, has told journalists in the capital, Nairobi that a rapid response team has been sent to investigate the killing of the journalist.
the IPOA had this to say “There are several other cases of the alleged police shooting of the member of the public part who was Kenyans for full commitment to deliver on its mandates and consequently contribute towards the professionalism of the national police service through the nations.
Meanwhile, reports gathered say Mr. Sharif’s killing by police was a case of mistaken identity.
The Independent Police Oversight Authority is a civilian body formed to monitor the work of the police in the East African country.
