The Kwara State Government has taken a significant step towards enhancing rural infrastructure with the submission of a bill to the House of Assembly, seeking the establishment of the Kwara State Rural Access Road Agency.
Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq forwarded the Kwara State Rural Access Road Agency Bill, 2023 to the House of Assembly for consideration and passage.
The letter, read during Tuesday’s plenary by the Speaker, Mr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu (APC/Ilesha/Gwanara), outlines the crucial responsibilities that the agency would undertake in fostering improved rural access.
The bill has been referred to the House Committee on Rules and Business, with the speaker directing it to be slated for the first reading.
In a related development, the Kwara State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency Amendment Bill, 2023, successfully passed the second reading during Tuesday’s session.
