The Enugu State Government, on Tuesday, vowed to shut down schools and markets observing the illegal one week sit-at-home order by Simon Ekpa. This was contained in a statement signed by Professor Chidiebere Onyia, Secretary to the State Government.
It could be recalled that some schools and businesses in Enugu State did not open today, Tuesday, for their normal activities in apparent obedience to the sit-at-home declared by Finland-based Biafra agitator, Simon Ekpa.
Reacting to the development, the Enugu Government said it is alarmed and dismayed by the development and hereby warned any school that fails to open and function normally from today will have its license revoked immediately.
The State Government also extended the same warning to market unions and shop owners in the state, stating that all markets and shops in the various markets must be open to customers from today or be shut down indefinitely.
The Governor also urged the general public to go about their normal daily activities as adequate security measures have been put in place to protect lives and property.
