The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has apprehended a suspect, Chinana Tali, for alleged human trafficking and attempting to sell his six-year-old son for a staggering N20 million in Abuja.
Confirming the arrest, the NSCDC FCT Commandant, Olusola Odumosu, revealed that the suspect was apprehended at the point of sale after being enticed to travel from Benue to Abuja.
“It is because of hardship and no money, so I need to find a way to train my other children,” Tali said.
According to Dailypost, Tali, when questioned during interrogation at the NSCDC FCT Command, claimed that the victim, identified as Ushafa Tali, was indeed his six-year-old son.
The father of six children rationalized his shocking action by citing financial hardship and the need to find a way to support his large family.
