Nigerians Seek Solution To Fuel Subsidy Hardship, Support Impending Strike From Labour

Residents in Kwara state have pledged support for a possible Nigeria Labour Congress strike, hoping it will enable the government to change the policies which have made livelihood harder for them.

It would be recalled that the Nigeria labour congress (NLC) warned that its members will commence a nationwide strike without any formal notice following reports of an impending increase in fuel prices from 680 naira per litre to 720 naira per litre by the marketers.

However, residents in Ilorin have called on the Federal Government to find lasting solutions to the difficult living conditions and while speaking to Royal FM, Taiwo Olabode, a motorist who ply post office through tanke urged the government to take the issue into consideration and engage in discussion with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

In her remarks, the owner of a beauty salon in Oke-Odo lamented the state of the economy saying that the government should have had a backup plan before the removal of fuel subsidy while a former civil servant, Mr. Suleiman opined that the strike is the only weapon that can be used to fight the government before urging the government to quickly address the issue.
