In aim to enhance effective community relations, the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, has said the service is collaborating with other federal government agencies in the fight against hunger with plan to construct schools and health facilities.
Comptroller General of the NCS, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, on Friday, stated this while briefing newsmen in Kano.
Adeniyi explained that the service was working assiduously to ensure adequate management of the nation’s borders to safeguard industries as well as protect the agricultural sector.
He said, “We are working in isolation, we are collaborating with other Federal Government ministries and parastatals to ensure adequate food security in the country.”
According to him, the agency was collaborating with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and other related stakeholders to ensure maximum food security in the country, adding that its agency had begun meetings with leaders of the grains market to fine-tune modalities of addressing hikes in foodstuffs prices.
