Ahead of the 2023 Women’s Afrobasket, the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has invited 20 players to the D’Tigress camp
The federation initially opened the camp for tryouts in Nigeria and the United States but the trials in the North American country seemed not to see the light of the day.
According to the list released on Monday morning, five players from the local league were handed an invitation with the team largely dominated by players based in the United States.
Newly appointed coach Rena Wakama will lead the defending champions to the tournament.
The 2023 Women AfroBasket will be the 26th edition of the tournament and will be held from 28 July to 6 August in Kigali, Rwanda.
